Stainless Steel 303 is uncommonly designed to provide improved machinability while enduring great mechanical and corrosion resistant properties Due to the presence of sulphur in the stainless steel composition, Alloy 303 is the most well machinable austenitic stainless steel; however, the sulphur addition does lower Alloy 303’s corrosion resistance to below than that of Alloy 304. Like other austenitic grades, 303 displays magnificent toughness, the lower sulphur content does reduce this lightly.
